Secretary's Report
President Angela Morris asked if everyone had the opportunity to review the minutes from our March 2025 meeting. A motion was made by Andria Geigle to accept the minutes and seconded by Stephanie Cole. All were in favor. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report
Treasurer Andria Geigle provided the following balances:
- Checking account balance is $35, 513.16
- Savings account is $68,570.43.
- CD investment of $30,919.50.
A motion was made by Josh Herman to accept the Treasurer’s report and seconded by Jack Odle. All were in favor. Motion carried.
Technology
Members had good engagement with the March digest
Calendar items included preparations for the annual election
Healthy website traffic with jobs was the top visited page
Calendar highlights include:
Knepple Scholarship to be awarded at the Justice Services Conference in April

A first draft of a Corporate Sponsor Policy is available for review by the POPAI Board members, discussion ensued
Discussed a matter requiring the Board’s attention that occurred at Management institute. Provided direction on how to proceed.
A motion was made by Jack Odle to nominate Tom Fox as a Life PO Member, and seconded by Andria Geigle. All were in favor, motion carried. Karen will notify Tom.
Education
Shannon Chambers updated the Board on the 2025 Spring Management Institute and will provide the Board with a detailed report after meeting with Whova.
Shannon provided potential dates for the 2026 Spring Management Institute and will forward a proposal to the Executive Board for review.
Shannon updated the Board on plans for the 2025 Fall Conference and reminded that the call for proposals link is active.
Probation Officer Advisory Board Update
Ryan Hull by email said there was nothing to report on since the last POAB meeting.
Adam McQueen stated, the Supervision Committee meets April 14 to finalize proposed amendments for the intrastate transfer documents.
Awards and Recognition
Stephanie Cole reported out on the Knepple Scholarship winner and plans for the presentation and photograph at the Justice Services Conference. POPAI will include in the monthly email after the conference announcing the winner.
Stephanie notified the recipient and informed her Angela will be in touch with conference details.
Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council (JRAC)
Angela reported that the next State meeting is April 25, 2025.
Legislation
Adam McQueen continues to update the Board on activities.
Bylaws & Strategic Plan Ad Hoc Committee
Angela reported that the Strategic Plan and Bylaws will be reviewed in May.
Adam opened discussion about the quarterly POPAI Newsletter. Angela will work on this and ask for reports from committee chairs.
Old Business
Angela reported that attendees from the Sex Offender training offered positive feedback. Discussed additional SO training opportunities and who POPAI could partner with to host.
Angela updated the Board on her meeting with IOCS to discuss the Salary Study conducted by POPAI. Angela, Shannon, and Kory George are scheduled to attend the May Probation Committee meeting.
New Business
Andria reminded Board Members interested in attending the 2025 summer APPA Conference in New York August 24 to 27 should submit their names for the drawing by April 21.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 10:30am EST in Hendricks County and via zoom.
