AUBURN — The DeKalb County Commissioners [in December] approved a new probation officer position to serve the DeKalb County Addictions Treatment Court.

Assistant chief probation officer Ryan Hull told the commissioners the department has received a grant from the Indiana Office of Court Services totaling $192,709.

The grant will allow funding for the current addictions treatment court probation officer, a new probation officer for that court, 20% of Hull’s salary, drug screen incentives, travel training and office supplies.

Hull noted that the addictions treatment court began in July 2021 and, to date, has received 120 referrals. From those referrals, 30 people have signed into the program. Seven have been terminated or self-terminated and six have graduated.
