Superior Court 1 Judge Charles Todd Jr. completed the Graduate Program through the Indiana Office of Court Services, which develops education programming for judges, probation officers and other court personnel. Todd was awarded a certificate by Chief Justice Loretta Rush of the Indiana Supreme Court during a recent annual judicial conference.

The Graduate Program for Judges, which was completed by 29 judicial officers, is described as an intensive learning experience requiring one week of course work in consecutive summers and additional assignments. Other judges also completed the Master’s Certificate Program or the Judicial College.

Todd, a Hagerstown resident, was appointed to the Superior 1 bench in 2009 when Judge P. Thomas Snow to become chairman of the Indiana Alcohol & Tobacco Commission. Todd was re-elected in 2012.

Before becoming a judge, the 1996 graduate from the Indiana University law school in Indianapolis worked as the county’s adult probation officer and adult probation supervisor while attending law school. Todd also has experience in private practice and as a deputy prosecutor.
